Who It’s For
Entry requirements
To study the CFA Program, you must have a Bachelor’s degree, or be completing the final year of your degree. Alternatively, you could have four years of relevant qualified work experience, or have a combination of work and university experience from the last four years.
Additionally, you must meet the CFA Program professional conduct admission criteria, have a valid passport and be able to take your exams in English.
Eligibility must be checked with the CFA Institute.
Level I CFA® Exam Structure
- The Level I exam is conducted via computer-based testing and consists of 180 multiple-choice questions divided into two 135-minute sessions.
- An optional break is provided between the two sessions. Candidates must complete both sessions to receive an exam result.
- First Session (2 hours, 15 minutes):
- 90 multiple-choice questions
- Covers topics: Ethics & Professional Standards, Quantitative Methods, Economics, and Financial Statement Analysis.
- Second Session (2 hours, 15 minutes):
- 90 multiple-choice questions
- Covers topics: Corporate Issuers, Equity Investments, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Alternative Investments, and Portfolio Management.
The CFA® Level I exams are offered four times a year in February, May, August, and November 2024.
