What are the entry requirements to study CIMA?
CIMA is an open entry qualification, if you do not have a formal qualification, you start at certificate level, and you need good understanding of English and Mathematics.
What if l have another qualification?
CIMA works closely with universities and other private higher education institutions, you can therefore apply for exemptions. The process takes 14 – 21 working days to get exemptions confirmation. Email your documents to johannesburg@cimaglobal.com . You will be liable to pay a once off exemption fee.
How long does it take to complete CIMA?
On average, students complete the 12 professional qualification exams in 3 years. Most students attempt two or three exams in 6 months but they can be completed based on performances in each test.
When and where do l sit for exams?
Certificate level and professional level CBA and OT exams are sat on demand throughout the year.
The exams are 90 minutes long and results are available immediately. ICS exams are computer based but human marked, exams are sat four times a year, Feb, May, Aug and Nov. The results are released after 6 -8 weeks. Students will receive an email with result confirmation on a date communicated by CIMA.
What is the pass mark for CIMA exams?
You need a minimum score of 100 to pass OT exams and a minimum score of 80 for ICS exams.
Students needs to demonstrate a certain level of competencies to pass the exams.
