2What are the entry requirements to study CIMA?
CIMA is an open entry qualification, if you do not have a formal qualification, you start at certificate level, and you need good understanding of English and Mathematics.
3What do I do if I have no formal qualifications?
CIMA operate a flexible entry policy, which means that as long as you feel that you have a good knowledge and understanding of Mathematics and English, there is no requirement for formal qualifications to register with us.
4Do I need to register with CIMA before I enrol with a course provider?
Yes, so we can confirm your status and award any exemptions for which you may be eligible for. In addition you must be registered as a student to be eligible to sit any examinations.
5Can I still register if I'm not working within management accounting?
You can register with CIMA at any time and with any background. There is no requirement to be working within management accountancy when studying CIMA. However to call yourself a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), you will need to demonstrate a minimum of three years' relevant practical experience. CIMA students and members have a wide range of jobs available to them, most of them, but not all of them, within Finance or Accountancy. 6Can I complete Cima in one year?
Yes, you can complete the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting in one year. This is the entry-level qualification given by CIMA. The amount of time it will take you to complete your course depends on how hard you work when you take your exams.
